  • Dr. Katie Figueroa, Licensed Clinical Psychologist
Founder & Owner, Elmhurst Mental Health Services (EMHS)

I’m Dr. Katie Figueroa, a Licensed Clinical Psychologist based in Elmhurst, Illinois, and the founder of Elmhurst Mental Health Services. I am committed to providing a safe, supportive, and collaborative space for individuals across the lifespan to explore challenges, develop effective coping strategies, and experience meaningful growth.

I earned my doctorate from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology in 2015. Over the years, I’ve worked with children, adolescents, and adults in a variety of settings, including therapeutic day schools, hospitals, outpatient clinics, and a Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP), where I spent five years working closely with individuals and families.

My clinical practice supports individuals dealing with a wide range of concerns, including anxiety, mood disorders, life transitions, behavioral challenges, ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorders, school or work difficulties, eating disorders, and stress management. I work with people of all ages and tailor treatment to meet each individual’s unique needs and goals.

I use a relational and client-centered approach, drawing from evidence-based practices such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help clients better understand themselves, manage stressors, and build skills for long-term emotional well-being. I also provide group therapy, family support when appropriate, and supervision for psychology graduate students, along with community presentations and outreach.

I have a particular interest in supporting individuals navigating major life transitions, including the adjustment to parenthood. As both a mother and a clinician with experience in a Perinatal Intensive Outpatient Program, I understand the emotional complexities that can arise during this time. I hold a Perinatal Mental Health Certification (PMH-C) from Postpartum Support International, which reflects my specialized training in supporting mothers, fathers, and caregivers through the perinatal period.

At EMHS, my goal is to offer compassionate, personalized care to individuals and families from all walks of life as they navigate life’s challenges and strive for greater balance and fulfillment.
